RESUMO: O controle de Conyza spp. antecedendo a semeadura da soja tem apresentado dificuldades no Brasil devido à presença de casos de resistência. Assim, novos herbicidas, como halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam, são importantes no manejo dessa espécie. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar a eficácia do herbicida halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam aplicado em dessecação pré-plantio da soja. Os experimentos foram instalados em três localidades no Estado do Paraná, Brasil, na safra de 2015/2016. O herbicida halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam foi associado ao glyphosate e comparado com outros herbicidas encontrados no mercado para o controle de buva; a aplicação ocorreu 15 dias antes da semeadura da soja, em plantas de Conyzaspp. com altura média de 20-35 cm, nas três áreas. Nenhum dos tratamentos promoveu controle de Conyzaspp., superior a 90%, quando a soja se encontrava no estádio V1; entretanto, os resultados demonstraram que halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam promoveu melhor controle em relação aos demais tratamentos. O controle melhorou (>90%) no estádio de desenvolvimento V3 da soja, no qual os tratamentos contendo glyphosate + halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam se mostraram superiores aos demais; além disso, os tratamentos com glyphosate + halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam diminuíram a matéria da massa seca de Conyza spp. entre 87 e 93%, dependendo da localização, quando comparados com o controle. A dessecação da buva com glyphosate + halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam não diminuiu a produtividade da soja, tendo sido esta sempre maior que a da testemunha não capinada.

ABSTRACT: Control of Conyza spp. prior to soybean sowing has faced difficulties because of the resistance cases in Brazil, hence new herbicides as halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam are important to manage this specie. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of the herbicide halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam applied at pre-planting of soybean. The experiments were set up in three locations in Paraná State, Brazil, in the 2015/2016 season. The herbicide halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam was associated with glyphosate and compared to other commercial herbicide to Conyza spp. control. The application occurred 15 days before soybean sowing, in plants of Conyza spp. with an average height of 20-35 cm in the three areas. None of the treatments promoted Conyza spp. control above 90%, when soybean was at the V1 stage; however, the findings showed that halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam promoted better control in comparison to the other treatments. The control reached >90% at V3 soybean development stage, in which treatments containing glyphosate + halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam were more effective than the other treatments. In addition, treatments with glyphosate + halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam decreased dry matter content of Conyza spp. between 87 and 93%, depending on the location, when compared to the control. The burndown treatment to Conyza spp. with glyphosate + halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam did not decrease soybean yield, and it was always higher than the untreated check.

RESUMO: No Brasil, Conyza bonariensis e C. canadensis apresentam biótipos resistentes a glyphosate e C. sumatrensis apresenta resistência múltipla a glyphosate e chlorimuron. Durante as safras de 2014/2015 e 2015/2016 foram relatadas falhas no controle de buva submetida à aplicação de paraquat. Este estudo teve por objetivo investigar a possibilidade da resistência ao paraquat em populações de C. sumatrensis. Populações com suspeita de resistência foram testadas em campo na entressafra de 2016, sendo depois coletadas sementes e plantas durante a safra de 2017, que foram posteriormente, estudadas em casa de vegetação. Experimentos com curva de dose-resposta foram instalados em Mogi-Mirim, SP, Londrina-PR e Palotina-PR, utilizando doses de 0, 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1.600 e 3.200 g ha-1. Foi avaliada a porcentagem de controle aos 3, 7, 14, 21 e 28 dias após aplicação e utilizado um modelo não linear log-logístico para o ajuste da curva de dose-resposta. Com os resultados obtidos neste estudo, foi confirmada a hipótese inicial do primeiro caso de resistência da buva ao paraquat na região oeste do Estado do Paraná, com fator de resistência variando entre 3,57 e 34,29, seguindo todos os critérios para a confirmação da resistência.

ABSTRACT: In Brazil, some populations of Conyza bonariensis and C. canadensis are glyphosate resistant and there are populations of C. sumatrensis (Sumatran fleabane) presenting multiple resistance to both glyphosate and chlorimuron. During the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 seasons, growers reported failures to control Sumatran fleabane with paraquat. This study investigated the potential of paraquat resistant Sumatran fleabane populations in Paraná state, Brazil. Populations with suspected paraquat resistance were tested in the field in 2016 season. In 2017, seeds from these populations were collected, sown and grown in a greenhouse. Paraquat dose-response curve experiments were performed in Mogi Mirim, SP; Londrina, PR and Palotina, PR using doses of 0, 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1,600 and 3,200 g ha-1, following all standard criteria for confirmation of weed resistance cases. Percentage control was assessed at 3, 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after application and data were fitted to a nonlinear, log-logistic model, and dose response curves were generated. The results of this study confirmed significant levels of resistance of Sumatran fleabane biotypes to paraquat with resistance factors between 3,57 to 34,29. Therefore, the first case of C. sumatrensis resistance to paraquat was confirmed in biotypes from the western area of Paraná state, Brazil.

RESUMO: A confirmação da efetividade de novos produtos é de grande importância para o controle de plantas daninhas, principalmente aquelas de difícil controle ou resistentes, como o caso da buva (Conyza sumatrensis). O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o controle de C. sumatrensis em diferentes estádios de desenvolvimento, utilizando-se halauxifen-methyl em associação com outros princípios ativos de herbicidas. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi de blocos ao acaso, em esquema fatorial 3x10, com quatro repetições. As plantas de C. sumatrensis foram divididas em três estádios de desenvolvimento: estádio 1: plantas com 8 folhas, estádio 2: plantas com 19 folhas e estádio 3: plantas com 45 folhas totalmente expandidas. Os tratamentos consistiram da associação de glyphosate (1.440 g ha-1) com os herbicidas 2,4-D a 806, 943 e 1.209 g e.a. ha-1, halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam at 5,06 g e.a. ha-1 + 25,52 g i.a. ha-1 and 6,32 g e.a. ha-1 + 31,87 g i.a. ha-1, halauxifen-methyl + 2,4-D at 5,00 + 783 g e.a. ha-1 and 6,0 + 940 g e.a. ha-1 and halauxifen-methyl at 5.0 and 6.0 g e.a. ha-1, além de testemunha sem aplicação, totalizando 10 tratamentos. Os herbicidas apresentaram controle satisfatório das plantas de buva no estádio 1 aos 50 DAA, com exceção do tratamento glyphosate + 2,4-D, na dose mais baixa. Contudo, para os estádios 2 e 3 o halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam, em ambas as doses, proporcionou controles superiores em relação aos demais tratamentos. O controle de C. sumatrensis foi facilitado quando manejado em estádios iniciais de desenvolvimento; entretanto, independentemente do estádio de desenvolvimento, os melhores controles foram com o tratamento contendo glyphosate + halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam a 1.440 g e.a. ha-1 + 6.32 g e.a. ha-1 + 31.87 g i.a. ha-1. Assim, as associações de herbicidas contendo halauxifen-methyl são mais uma opção para o manejo de C. sumatrensis nos sistemas agrícolas.

ABSTRACT: The effectiveness of a new product has a great importance to weed control, especially those that are difficult to control or resistant to, such as the sumatran fleabane (Conyza sumatrensis). The objective of this research was to evaluate the control of C. sumatrensis at different growth stages, using halauxifen-methyl in combination with other herbicides. The experimental design used was a randomized blocks in a 3x10 factorial scheme, with four replications. The plants of C. sumatrensis were evaluated at different growth: stage 1: plants with 8 leaves; Stage 2: plants with 19 leaves and stage 3: plants with 45 leaves fully expanded. The herbicides used were the association of glyphosate with the herbicides 2,4-D at 806, 943 and 1,209 g a.e. ha-1, halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam at 5.06 g a.e. ha-1 + 25.52 g a.i. ha-1 and 6.32 g a.e. ha-1 + 31.87 g a.i. ha-1, halauxifen-methyl + 2,4-D at 5.00 + 783 g a.e. ha-1 and 6,0 + 940 g a.e. ha-1 and halauxifen-methyl at 5.0 and 6.0 g a.e. ha-1 and untreated, totaling 10 treatments. The herbicides demonstrated satisfactory control of the plants in Stage 1 at 50 DAA, with the exception of the glyphosate + 2,4-D treatment at the lowest rate. However for Stages 2 and 3 the halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam in both rates, provided superior controls in relation to the other treatments. The control of sumatran fleabane was facilitated when their management occurs in the early stages of development, however independent of the development stage, the best controls obtained were with the treatment containing glyphosate + halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam at 1,440 g a.e. ha-1 + 6.32 g a.e. ha-1 + 31.87 g a.i. ha-1. Thus, combinations of herbicides containing halauxifen-methyl are another option to control C. sumatrensis in agricultural systems.

RESUMO: Atualmente, no Brasil, existem poucos herbicidas registrados para a cultura do trigo com a finalidade de controle de plantas daninhas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar a seletividade do pyroxsulam à cultura do trigo e o controle de Lolium multiflorum. Foram conduzidos dois experimentos em campo, em diferentes localidades do Paraná. Nas doses de registro comercial de 15 e 18 g i.a. ha-1, pyroxsulam não causou injúria visual superior a 10% à cultura do trigo. Quando aumentada a dose do produto para 21 a 42 g i.a. ha-1, em Cascavel, ocorreu injúria superior a 10%; contudo, houve recuperação total dos sintomas aos 28 dias após a aplicação. O rendimento de grão de trigo não foi afetado em nenhuma das doses estudadas. O herbicida pyroxsulam aplicado nas doses de 15 ou 18 g i.a. ha-1 proporcionou controle superior a 85% em Lolium multiflorum nos dois experimentos.

ABSTRACT: Few herbicides are currently registered in Brazil for weed control in wheat. The objective of this research was to determine the wheat crop selectivity and the response of Lolium multiflorum to pyroxsulam. Field experiments were conducted at two locations in Paraná, Brazil. At the proposed commercial rates of 15 and 18 g a.i. ha-1 pyroxsulam did not cause visual injury above 10% in wheat. Pyroxsulam caused >10% injury in wheat at one location (Cascavel) when applied at 21, 30, 36 and 42 g a.i. ha-1; however, the crop fully recovered from the injury by 28 days after application and did not have an adverse effect on wheat grain yield, regardless of the rate applied. Pyroxsulam applied at 15 or 18 g a.i. ha-1 provided excellent control (>85%) of Lolium multiflorum in both trials.

RESUMO: O objetivo deste estudo foi comparar a eficiência de diferentes sistemas de manejo com aplicações sequenciais de herbicidas no controle de Conyza spp. Para isso, foram instalados quatro experimentos em campo, sendo dois na região oeste do Paraná (E1 e E2), um em Goiás (E3) e outro no Rio Grande do Sul (E4). A Conyza spp. presente estava com altura entre entre 25 e 60 cm. Os tratamentos foram dispostos no delineamento em blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos utilizados na primeira aplicação em dessecação foram o 2,4-D + glyphosate + diclosulam, chlorimuron-ethyl + glyphosate + 2,4-D e (diclosulam + halauxifen-methyl) + glyphosate em quatro doses. Após 10 dias foram realizadas as aplicações sequenciais dentro de cada tratamento, utilizando os seguintes herbicidas: amônio glufosinato, paraquat e saflufenacil, totalizando 18 tratamentos mais uma testemunha sem aplicação herbicida. Os resultados mostraram em todos os experimentos um controle superior a 90% nos tratamentos contendo diclosulam + halauxifen-methyl + glyphosate aos 35 DAA, independentemente do herbicida aplicado na sequência. Os resultados mostraram ainda que os herbicidas 2,4-D + glyphosate + diclosulam e chlorimuron-ethyl + glyphosate + 2,4-D foram ineficientes no controle de Conyza spp. em E1 e E2, possivelmente pelo tamanho das plantas daninhas (50-60 cm), porém eficientes em E3 e E4 aos 35 DAA, onde as plantas de buva se encontravam menores. O herbicida diclosulam + halauxifen-methyl + glyphosate, associado a amônio-glufosinato, paraquat ou saflufenacil em aplicações sequenciais, mostrou ser uma importante ferramenta para controle de Conyza spp. em diferentes estágios de desenvolvimento.

ABSTRACT: The goal of this study was to compare the efficacy of different weed management through a burndown application followed by sequential applications of herbicides to control Conyza spp. Thus, four field experiments were conducted, two in the western region of Paraná state (E1 and E2), one in Jataí, Goiás state (E3) and another one in Ibirubá, Rio Grande do Sul state (E4). Conyza spp. in this area had a height ranging between 25 and 60 cm. Treatments were arranged in a randomized block design with four replications. The primary herbicide treatments were 2,4-D + glyphosate + diclosulam, chlorimuron-ethyl + glyphosate + 2,4-D, and four doses of diclosulam + halauxifen-methyl + glyphosate. These treatments were applied singly or in sequential applications, made 10 days before the application of ammonium glufosinate, paraquat or saflufenacil. In all experiments, results showed efficient (90%) control of treatments containing diclosulam + halauxifen-methyl in combination with glyphosate on day 35 DAA, regardless of sequential applications. Applications of 2,4-D + glyphosate + diclosulam or chlorimuron-ethyl + glyphosate + 2,4-D were not effective against Conyza spp. at E1 and E2 locations, possibly due to the greater weed size (50 to 60 cm) at these sites. However, the same treatments were effective at E3 and E4 locations, where weeds were smaller. Diclosulam + halauxifen-methyl + glyphosate associated with ammonium glufosinate, paraquat or saflufenacil in sequential applications, proved to be an important tool to manage Conyza spp. at different growth stages.

Os grãos perdidos na colheita de culturas tolerantes ao glyphosate podem originar plantas voluntárias que apresentam restrições ao manejo de dessecação no sistema de plantio direto, bem como causar interferência na cultura sucessora transgênica ou convencional. Objetivou-se neste trabalho avaliar o controle do milho voluntário tolerante ao glyphosate em dois estádios de desenvolvimento. Dois experimentos foram conduzidos: um para o controle no estádio V5 e outro para o controle no estádio V8 do milho hibrido triplo 2B688 HR (tolerante a lepidópteros e ao glyphosate). Utilizou-se o delineamento de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos avaliados foram: haloxyfop (25 g ha-1), haloxyfop (50 g ha-1), haloxyfop (62 g ha-1), haloxyfop + 2,4-D (25 + 670gha-1), haloxyfop + 2,4-D (50 + 670gha-1), haloxyfop + 2,4-D (62 + 670gha-1), haloxyfop + fluroxypyr (25 + 200gha-1), haloxyfop + fluroxypyr (50 + 200gha-1), haloxyfop + fluroxypyr (62 + 200gha-1), clethodim (84gha-1), clethodim + 2,4-D (84 + 670gha-1), clethodim + fluroxypyr (84 + 200 g ha-1) e uma testemunha sem aplicação. As aplicações no estádio V5 do haloxyfop e do clethodim isolados ou em mistura com 2,4-D e com fluroxypyr apresentaram controle máximo (100%) entre 32 e 39 dias após a aplicação, com exceção da mistura haloxyfop +2,4-D (25 + 670 g ha-1) que não promoveu controle satisfatório. Para o estádio V8, as misturas haloxyfop +2,4-D (50+670gha-1) e haloxyfop +2,4-D (62+670gha-1) demoraram até 6 e 10 dias a mais para atingirem controle satisfatório a excelente, quando comparados com as aplicações isoladas do haloxyfop nas mesmas doses, respectivamente. O clethodim aplicado isolado e em mistura com 2,4-D e com fluroxypyr não apresentou controle satisfatório. Concluiu-se que os herbicidas mostraram controle eficiente em aplicações no estádio V5 das plantas do milho voluntário transgênico, com exceção da mistura haloxyfop + 2,4-D (25 + 670gha-1). Para as aplicações no estádio V8, o haloxyfop isolado e em mistura com fluroxypyr foi o que demonstrou controle excelente em todas as doses avaliadas. A mistura com 2,4-D pode reduzir a eficiência do haloxyfop em baixas doses. O clethodim isolado e em mistura com o 2,4-D ou com fluroxypyr não foi eficiente.

The loss of grains during the harvest of glyphosate tolerant corn may generate volunteer plants, which can interfere in the conventional or glyphosate crop in succession. The current work aim to evaluate the control of the volunteer corn glyphosate tolerant under two weed stages. Aimed to evaluate the control of volunteer glyphosate tolerant corn in two stages of development. There were conducted two experiments with hybrid 2B688 HR (lepidoptera and glyphosate tolerant), the application were at V5 and V8 stage. The experiment was randomized block design with four replicates, using the treatments: haloxyfop at 25, 50 and 62 g ha-1 alone and associated with 2,4-D at 670 g ha-1 or fluroxypyr at 200 g ha-1. The standard was clethodim at 84 g ha-1 with 2,4-D and fluroxypyr at same rates. The applications of haloxyfop and clethodim both isolated or in a mixture with 2,4-D and fluroxypyr at V5 stage showed total control (100%) at 32 and 39 days after the application, except for haloxyfop + 2,4-D (25 + 670 g ha-1) mixture, which did not provided adequate control. At V8 stage, haloxyfop + 2,4-D (50 + 670 g ha-1) and haloxyfop + 2,4-D (62 + 670 g ha-1) mixtures took up to 6 and 10 days or longer to reach adequate to excellent control, when compared to haloxyfop isolated applications in the same doses, respectively. Either isolated clethodim or mixed with 2, 4-D and fluroxypyr did not show adequate control. The treatments showed efficient control on volunteer corn plants at V5 stage, except for haloxyfop + 2, 4-D (25 + 670 g ha-1) mixture. At V8 stage applications, haloxyfop either isolated or mixture with fluroxypyr demonstrated excellent control on every evaluated dose. The mixture with 2, 4-D can reduce haloxyfop efficiency at low doses. Clethodim alone or mixed with 2,4-D or furoxypyr did not provide acceptable level of control.

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar os componentes de produção e a qualidade das sementes de soja RR, em função da aplicação de doses crescentes de glyphosate. Os experimentos foram instalados em campo, no município de Mandaguari, Paraná, durante as safras 2006/2007 e 2007/2008. Os tratamentos foram compostos por cinco doses de glyphosate. Todas as aplicações foram realizadas em modalidade única entre o estádio V4 e V5. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi em blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância e; quando significativos, aplicou-se o teste t e análise de regressão aos tratamentos. Foram avaliadas a qualidade fisiológica e sanitária das sementes, a produtividade e a massa de mil sementes. Os resultados indicam que a qualidade das sementes pode ser afetada negativamente pelo glyphosate e, também, demonstram provável redução nos componentes de produtividade com incrementos na dose.

This study aimed to evaluate the production components and quality of RR soybean seeds (Roundup Ready®), after application of increasing rates of gliphosate. Field experiments were conducted in Mandaguari, Paraná, during two seasons. Treatments consisted of five doses of glyphosate. All applications were performed once, between development stages V4 and V5. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized block design, with four replicates. Data were subjected to analysis of variance, and when significant, t-tests and a regression analysis were applied to verify the behavior of the treatments. The physiological and sanitary quality, yield and mass of one thousand seeds were evaluated. The results indicated that seed quality can be adversely affected by glyphosate, and also showed a probable reduction in yield components with increasing rates of application.

O cultivo da soja - Glycine max (Roundup Ready® - RR) tem aumentado, e pouco tem sido relatada a influência do glyphosate sobre o estado nutricional das plantas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi comparar o acúmulo de nutrientes em diferentes estádios fenológicos entre os cultivares BRS 184 (convencional) e BRS 243 RR (transgênico), com mesmo ciclo vegetativo e reprodutivo, sob diferentes sistemas de manejo de plantas daninhas (capina e herbicida). O acúmulo de nutrientes e matéria seca na soja convencional foi superior ao da soja RR tratada com glyphosate, indicando que um nível maior de nutrientes pode ser requerido pelos cultivares RR para atingir a eficiência fisiológica e, provavelmente, uma nova recomendação de adubação para as culturas RR deve ser levada em consideração devido à redução da eficiência nutricional imposta pelo glyphosate.

The cultivation of soybean-Glycine max (Roundup Ready® - RR) has increased and little has been reported on the influence of glyphosate on the nutritional status of the plants. The aim of this work was to compare nutrient accumulation at different phenological stages between the cultivars BRS 184 (conventional) and BRS 243 RR (transgenic), with the same crop cycle, under different weed management systems (hand weed and herbicide). Nutrient accumulation and dry matter in conventional soybean was superior to that in the glyphosate-treated RR soybean, indicating that a higher level of nutrients might be required for the RR cultivars to achieve physiological efficiency and a new fertilizer recommendation for RR crops may be considered, due to the reduced nutritional efficiency imposed by glyphosate.

A área de soja resistente ao glyphosate (RR) tem aumentado a cada ano. No entanto, essa expansão com a tecnologia da soja RR aumentou o uso de glyphosate significativamente, e muitos agricultores têm notado que alguns cultivares RR apresentam injúrias visuais logo após a aplicação do glyphosate em pós-emergência. Dessa forma, dois experimentos foram instalados em anos distintos, com diferentes objetivos: o primeiro, visando avaliar a influência do glyphosate na soja RR nas variáveis fotossintéticas e de biomassa, e o segundo, a fim de reavaliar os mesmos parâmetros afetados na soja RR pelo glyphosate, bem como o uso de diversas modalidades de aplicação de aminoácidos como forma de uma provável recuperação das plantas de soja com sua utilização exógena. A taxa fotossintética e o índice SPAD apresentaram decréscimos proporcionais às doses de glyphosate aplicadas, sendo o efeito pronunciado com a aplicação única desse herbicida. Devido ao decréscimo da taxa fotossintética, à produção de clorofila e à provável imobilização de nutrientes nos tecidos foliares causada pelo glyphosate, foi observada menor produção de biomassa. Entretanto, o uso de aminoácidos exógenos amenizou os efeitos indesejáveis desse herbicida na cultura da soja RR.

Glyphosate-resistant (RR) soybean crop areas have expanded every year. However, as a result of this expansion, the use of glyphosate has significantly increased, with the appearance of visual injuries in RR soybeans immediately after post-emergence application of the herbicide. Thus, two experiments were conducted in different years with different objectives. The first experiment aimed to evaluate the influence of glyphosate on photosynthetic variables and biomass production. The second experiment aimed to re-evaluate the same parameters affected in RR soybeans by glyphosate, as well as the use of various methods of amino acid application, as a form of a likely recovery of the soybean plants following these exogenous applications. The photosynthetic rate and SPAD index decreased as the glyphosate rate increased, with a pronounced decrease after a single herbicide application. Overall, due to a decrease in the photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll production, as well as to a likely immobilization of shoot nutrient concentration by glyphosate, a significant biomass decrease was verified in the treatments with glyphosate application. However, the use of exogenous amino acids may be a strategy to safeguard the undesirable effects of this herbicide on RR soybean.

O aumento da área cultivada de soja resistente ao glyphosate (RR) no Brasil é resultado do benefício dessa tecnologia no manejo de plantas daninhas. No entanto, a expansão da área de soja RR aumentou significativamente o uso de glyphosate e consequentemente, em alguns casos, têm sido observados sintomas de injúrias na soja RR conhecidos como yellow flashing ou amarelecimento das folhas superiores. Nesse sentido, dois experimentos, em diferentes anos, foram conduzidos em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com quatro repetições. O primeiro teve o objetivo de avaliar a influência do glyphosate na soja RR nas variáveis fotossintéticas, nos parâmetros de nodulação e na biomassa seca da parte aérea e raiz, realizando-se a comparação entre os tratamentos BRS 242 RR sem glyphosate, BRS 242 RR + glyphosate e a isolinha parental não-RR cv. Embrapa 58, submetidas a uma dose de glyphosate de 1.200 g e.a. ha-1; aplicada no estádio V4. O segundo experimento foi conduzido visando reavaliar as variáveis fotossintéticas, de produção de biomassa e nodulação afetadas na soja RR pelo glyphosate no primeiro experimento. Entretanto, no segundo experimento foi avaliada a utilização de diversas modalidades de aplicação de aminoácidos (a.a.), sendo os diferentes tratamentos (sem a.a.; tratamento de semente com a.a; tratamento de semente com a.a. + aplicação foliar de a.a.; sem tratamento de sementes com a.a; e com aplicação foliar de a.a) combinados com diferentes doses de glyphosate (1.200 e 2.400 g e.a. ha-1), objetivando uma provável recuperação das plantas de soja com sua utilização exógena. Em ambos os experimentos, as variáveis fotossintéticas, os parâmetros de nodulação e biomassa seca da parte aérea e raiz foram afetados pela aplicação do glyphosate, porém o segundo experimento evidenciou, de modo geral, que o uso de aminoácidos via tratamento de sementes associado com aplicação foliar pode ser uma estratégia para prevenir os efeitos indesejáveis desse herbicida na cultura da soja RR.

Cultivation of glyphosate-resistant (GR) soybeans has increased in Brazil as a result of the application of this technology in weed management systems developed for this crop. However, the expansion of GR soybean production has significantly increased the use of glyphosate and, in some cases, resulted in injury symptoms observed in GR soybean, known as "yellow flashing" or yellowing of the upper leaves. Thus, two experiments were conducted in different years. The first experiment aimed to evaluate the influence of glyphosate on GR soybeans regarding the photosynthetic variables, nodule parameters, and shoot and root dry biomass by comparing cultivar BRS 242 GR without glyphosate and BRS 242 RR + glyphosate at 1.200 g ha-1 at V4 growth stage, to the near isogenic non-GR parental line cv. Embrapa 58. The second experiment aimed to reassess the same parameters in GR soybeans at the V4 stage treated with glyphosate, plus the application of various amino acids, to evaluate the expected recovery of soybean growth under the exogenous use of supplemental amino acids. In general, the photosynthetic variables, nodulation parameters and shoot and root dry biomass were affected by glyphosate; however, the use of amino acids may be a strategy to prevent the undesirable effects of this herbicide on GR soybean

Estudou-se neste trabalho a atividade do sulfentrazone sobre plantas de soja cultivadas em um Latossolo Vermelho distroférrico com diferentes níveis de compactação. As unidades experimentais foram constituídas por colunas de PVC com altura de 0,25 m e diâmetro interno de 0,145 m, nas quais foram colocadas massas de solo (30% de umidade) suficientes para atingir o nível de compactação desejado. O delineamento experimental adotado foi o inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 4 x 2 x 2, correspondendo a quatro níveis de compactação do solo (1,0, 1,2, 1,4 e 1,5 g cm-3), presença ou ausência do herbicida e duas frações de poros preenchidas com água (80 e 70% da porosidade total), com quatro repetições. O sulfentrazone reduziu a área foliar, a formação de nódulos, a massa seca dos nódulos e o acúmulo de nitrogênio na parte aérea. Esses efeitos foram mais acentuados com o aumento da densidade do solo.

This experiment aimed to evaluate the activity of sulfentrazone on soybean plants grown in a Typic Haplorthox, under different soil compaction levels. Experimental units were PVC columns 0.25 m high and with 0.145 m of internal diameter, in which enough soil mass (30% moisture) was placed to achieve the desired compaction level. The experimental design was completely randomized, in a 4 x 2 x 2 factorial scheme, corresponding to four compaction levels (1.0, 1.2, 1.4 and 1.5 g cm-3), presence or absence of herbicide and two soil moistures (80 and 70% of total porosity filled with water), with four replicates. Sulfentrazone reduced the foliar area, nodule development, nodule dry matter and shoot nitrogen accumulation. Such effects became more pronounced with increased soil compaction.
